HOW DOES THE CONCEPT WORKS?

Dog park is no substitute for a daily walk. Dog owners feel that if they walk their dogs on leash for 20–30 minutes per day and play with them for 15 minutes, their dogs will be well-adjusted to the urban environment. However that is not sufficient. Allowing dogs off-leash in the safety of a dog park is an excellent way to socialize dogs and provide them a much needed mental activity which they otherwise lack by not meeting their own kind. But they must be supervised at all times.

Its important that socialisation be done in a controlled environment. Its not a good idea to toss a young dog to a pack of strange dogs, hence controlling the environment means choosing what kind of experience it will get. A positive experience will get a positive outcome which will allow for the dog to adjust to the others with minimum stress.

An attack can traumatize a dog and can change its temperament forever.
